About the Pre-Medicine Program
On Campus
The field of medicine offers a wide variety of stimulating, demanding, and fulfilling career pathways. While the majority of physicians focus on patient care, others specialize in research, medical education, administration, or a blend of these areas. The American Medical Association (AMA) offers a wealth of information about the roles, responsibilities, and advancements within the field of medicine.
The College of Medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center requires a minimum of 90 credit hours for admission. However, students pursuing pre-medicine are expected to work towards a 4-year baccalaureate degree concurrently with the pre-medical program. Biology and chemistry majors are commonly chosen but other science majors are acceptable as long as core science courses are included. 体育菠菜大平台 students considering other schools should review their requirements.
